Animal abuse is a common occurrence that is appalling and extremely sad. These poor animals most often cannot protect themselves and actually rely on their humans for love and care, not injury, neglect and abuse. It absolutely breaks my heart when I see and hear stories of animals being beaten, abandoned, tossed out of cars, drowned, tossed in the garbage like trash, starved to death and even neglected like the dog in this photo!
Recently in Lancaster, California, a lady failed to have her two dogs groomed as needed for an extended period of time. The dogs were so matted that they could not even walk. One of them tried to wag its tail when rescuers came to help but was unable to do so because it was stuck to one side and unable to move. The Huffington Post reports that this town in California is known for many cases of animal hoarding, neglect and abuse. Eyes seem to be closed to these problems but we need to help these poor creatures to live a better fulfilling life. Authorities, the ASPCA and the Humane Society need to get involved and be a voice for the animals that are so loving and caring yet being treated poorly.
